I may have watched it more recently.  I got in the habit of watching the
reruns more than once, and some of my favorite episodes I have mave seen 5
or more times.  :O  :D

Yeah, the spleen story was for sure from the first season... it may have
been the first season finale.  The wallpaper story, IIRC, was from later in
the series -- maybe several seasons later but still quite a while ago!

My mother also pointed out that there was story in the original series
about a cliff and birdwatching... I think it was the second or third season
finale... but the similarities end there.  IIRC it was a two-parter and
Chris O'Dowd guest-starred as someone with mental issues.

Yeah, I don't always watch it looking for similarities, but when I was able
to guess the wallpaper issue, I started paying closer attention to this
one.  Initially, I didn't see any similarities.

Yeah, he sure did goof and, after he blurted it out, he really didn't read
her reaction well.  Reminds me of several similar blunders I would have
made when I was younger.  ;)
