The Story...
       Today is the anniversary of the act that officially ended the U.S.
     Revolution and established the United States as a sovereign power. On
     January 14th, 1784, the Continental Congress ratified the Treaty of
     Paris, thus fulfilling the Declaration of Independence of July 4, 1776.
