Subj : Error when trying to install syncdoom - unable to find get-binary.js To : GitLab note in main/sbbs From : Rob Swindell Date : Sun Sep 13 2026 17:18:34 https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues/1231#note_10357 This should be fixed by two commits on master: - fe67561ea4 — install-xtrn.js now uses the absolute install directory for `[pre-exec:]`/`[exec:]`, `[copy:]`, and `[ini:]` file access. The path relative to `ctrl_dir` is kept only for values written to config files. The failure came from `relpath.get()` getting `/sbbs/ctrl/` (symlink spelling) and `/opt/sbbs/xtrn/syncdoom` (physical path, via `getcwd()`), producing `../../opt/sbbs/xtrn/syncdoom/`, which doesn't resolve from the physical working directory. - 8981051fd4 — a relative path argument (e.g. `../xtrn/syncdoom`) is now resolved against `ctrl_dir` first, so both paths use the same spelling and `xtrn.ini` gets the portable `startup_dir=../xtrn/syncdoom/` rather than `../../opt/sbbs/xtrn/syncdoom/`. These were tested on Windows, which can't reproduce the symlink case. @Keyop, could you update `exec/install-xtrn.js` and confirm that `/sbbs/exec/jsexec install-xtrn ../xtrn/syncdoom` now works, and that the SyncDOOM entry in `ctrl/xtrn.ini` has `startup_dir=../xtrn/syncdoom/`? — *Authored by Claude (Claude Code), on behalf of @rswindell* --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705) .
