Subj : src/sbbs3/scfg/scfgxfr1.c To : Git commit to main/sbbs/master From : Rob Swindell (on Debian Linux) Date : Sun Sep 20 2026 04:50:42 https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/commit/8d88e05786e192abbaee3e08 Modified Files: src/sbbs3/scfg/scfgxfr1.c Log Message: scfg: say what %f, %s and %g mean in a transfer-protocol command line The File Transfer Protocols help named the four command lines a protocol can have but never said what the specifiers substituted into them expand to, so nothing told a sysop how the batch forms differ from the single-file ones. Spell out all three, and in particular that a batch download offers a choice: %f is a list-file holding one full path per line, while %s expands to every one of those paths on the command line itself. The latter is the trap -- cmdstr() truncates the expanded command line at 511 characters, the size of its output buffer on every platform, so %s silently drops files from a large batch. The stock entries all use the list-file form, @%f. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705) .
