how hard would it be to assign the node number before and release it after loading any door game? maybe just hide the old node number all together and put in a connection number instead (for internode stuff, etc)

maybe it's possible to get most of the effect without the mental gymnastics i'm doing ;)

i don't know if everyone would turn it on, but perhaps boards where people idle on MRC might
