#15: If you're using heuristics (e.g., checking if the
selector ends with / or with .txt etc.) to determine the
item type, you're doing it wrong. I have selectors with no
file name extensions and no ending /; some are type 0 and
some are type 1. You cannot assume anything about the
structure of a selector. Another client I tried (GOPHRite)
seemed to do this, and it was annoying.

#15: On top of that, if you bookmark a URL without the item
type (e.g., gopher://gopher.viste.fr/ogup/), how does your
client know what type it is? It could be a text file, a
menu, or any other type. The correct URL is
       gopher://gopher.viste.fr/1/ogup/ (a menu, type 1).

#15: Are you the author of iGopher+? If it supports URLs I
highly recommend following RFC 4266; otherwise it's broken.
For example, how do you browse a site that doesn't support
a leading slash in selectors? gopher.conman.org comes to
mind. You can test a gopher client's URL support at
       gopher://asciz.com/0/client-tests. Many gopher clients that
I've tested fail at least one of those tests.

#12: Are you using w3m by chance? That client is known to
mistakenly convert spaces to plus signs in the search
string. That works with HTTP but not gopher. (Some gopher
servers like Bucktooth automatically convert those plus
signs back to spaces, but I'm not running one of those
       servers.)
