I have no idea of what went wrong with it but I think that news:alt.test
(which I mentioned in another post) may be a better playground for you
until you get the hang of it. Then, when you feel more sure of what you
are doing, please come back here and show us your pictures. What I have
seen from you so far has looked good, you just need to get those
irritiating little technical details straightened out.  :)
