ASCII art was fun when I first started lurking close to 2 years ago... People enjoyed making the pictures and enjoyed sharing them. Those who chose not to, didn't. People on the newsgroup supported one another and built upon other's ideas.... it wasn't considered "stealing"... It was fun- amusement-- (Who remember the tornado postings?) :) No one was that concerned about copyrights-- although we did keep initials with all the ASCII artwork. Seriously, does anyone really believe that ASCII art will make big business? Personally, I've made a little money creating specialized sigs-- but it certainly will not support my family! I can't see how ASCII cartoons will make it anywhere except in e-zines... (and they don't pay for submissions) So what's the big deal? Can't we make this fun again without people bitching? Does anyone see it from this viewpoint as well? -joan -- /\\ //\ | \\ // | -= it's a bad hare day =- \ \\ // / \ \\ // / joan stark \ '""' / /__ __\ (##/==\##) ASCII ART GALLERY / \/ \ =\ __ /= jgs '-.__.-'
