2026-07-19 Arosa ================ If you want a pretty spectacular train ride that is not too far from Zürich you could go to Chur and from there up to Arosa. The train slowly climbs up a narrow valley – along the valley side. We drove up there on 2026-07-17: Looking back we see a forested valley Looking ahead we see more mountains We just crossed a bridge that’s under construction Up ahead there’s a pretty famous bridge Visiting the bear sanctuary in Arosa on 2026-07-18 and then going for a walk. 😍 Entrance to a bear sanctuary with clouded mountains Elevated walkway over the bear territory Alpine meadows and mountains Some bear pictures from the sanctuary. There are currently four bears at the sanctuary. Bear moving away into the distance Bear moving away with a dead tree trunk Bear lying on its belly, head between its claws Bear head from above with the great claws visible Warg energy! Bear sleeping on its side, shedding its winter hair and therefore looking patchy, with exposed fur rather blond and the legs much darker looking. Then we went up to Hörnli (the pass towards Lenzerheide). We went up and down by cable car because the weather is very mercurial, at the moment. Rain and sunshine keep chasing each other. Some yellow flowers and a foggy mountain pass Green mountain meadows and a tiny blue lake A dry brown plant in front of a mountain meadow panorama Me, standing up after taking the previous picture 2026-07-10 we went on a small walk from Bärenland via Maraner Hauptji, Gender (‽), Ober Sandboda, Scheidegg, Ober Prätschsee, Prätschalp, Maran, Eichhörnliweg, Arosa – with a lot of animal hand feeding at the end: squirrels, blue tits, coal tits, great tits, and spotted nutcracker. We even saw a great spotted woodpecker. Ao nice! 😍 View back towards Arosa with the grey mountains in the back A dry alpine meadow near the tree line More of this strange landscape of dry alpine meadow My wife sitting on one of the many benches, looking at the landscape Alex and Claudia Alpine landscape slightly above the tree line A tiny alpine pond Another great bench #Arosa #Switzerland #Pictures
