fTelnet is a software that allows you to use the regular world wide
web to connect to BBSes. It's great, but also the lamest way to
connect...
NOT the software; it is super badass, but... you should just
install some terminal binaries that do the lifting for you.
However, if you just want to connect to BBSes with ANSI you COULD
use fTelnet. They have a cool my.fTelnet service that you can add
BBSes to a 'directory' in.
